As far back as Zainab can remember, she always wanted to choose a career that would help people care for their health. This passion for health, healing, and wellness was what predisposed her pursuit of Naturopathic Medicine. Her goal as an ND is to work with patients to help them get an understanding of their current state of health and work with them to improve their overall health and well being. Her parents immigrated from Afghanistan, and she was raised in Canada. She completed her honors bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto, majoring in Biology and Neuroscience. Thereafter she went on to study naturopathic medicine and graduated from The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in May 2013. She is also a mother and homeschooler of 3 amazing children.

Zainab’s practice focuses on women’s health and wellness, which includes, but is not limited to helping women prepare for pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum concerns. Treatments include TCM (acupuncture and dry cupping), botanical medicine, physical medicine (such as massage and hydrotherapy, physical therapy), clinical nutrition, homeopathic medicine, dietary and lifestyle counseling.

Gerda grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and completed her physiotherapy degree with distinction at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2003. She started her career in the Neuro MusculoSkeletal field adding a diploma in Sports Rehabilitation to her credentials in 2006. She was a treasurer and provincial chairperson for the South African Society of Physiotherapy for a number of years. It was in an elite athlete clinic that her interest in Women’s health was first piqued. She obtained her Women’s health credentialing in 2012, the same year her first son was born. The family moved to the UK shortly after and then landed in Canada three years later.

She started at the World of My baby (WOMB) in 2018 and has been there since. She has expanded her peri-partum care to an interest in the peri-menopausal field and is qualified to fit pessaries.

She is passionate about furthering education and hosts the in-clinic placements for McMaster medical residents as well as giving guest lectures at the University itself.

Fatima is a medical doctor [MD] graduated from Dubai Medical College, UAE and a Homeopathic practitioner [HOM] graduated from the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine in Toronto, Canada. She is a registered member with the College of Homeopaths of Ontario and the founder of Live Well with Homeopathy.

In 2017 Fatima first started using Homeopathic medicine with the help of a senior Homeopathic practitioner to treat her then four-month-old daughter’s eczema. After seeing immediate and complete healing in her daughter she became intrigued by Homeopathy and wasted no time in getting herself enrolled to study at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine. She has not looked back since!

She has found that Homeopathy is a safe and effective alternative medicine, and she is deeply passionate about giving her patients this alternative option to treat and heal their health issues. She has a special interest in working with Women and Children’s health issues.

Naush is a Certifed Personal Trainer and a Pre- & Postnatal Fitness Specialist. She is the founder of Naushfit. Naushfit offers Online Coaching Programs for Moms and New Moms (pregnant & postpartum) to help improve their strength, stamina and confidence at any stage of their lives.

Naushfit was founded with a strong desire to encourage mothers to change their lives in the simplest way possible – through “movement”. Too often moms get focused on their jobs, raising a family, household chores and everything in between with little to no time for themselves. It’s important that we prioritize ourselves and take the time to strengthen our bodies as it has a tremendous positive impact on our daily lives!

Dr. Ailya Patel is a mother to 5 and a Naturopathic Doctor who graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) with a 12-month clinical internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic in pediatric medicine. She also holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from India, where she worked closely with impoverished families, mainly mothers and children, with varying health issues.

Her passion for medicine and natural healing has shaped her into what she is today. She combines a safe, evidence-based practice and a loving heart to support and guide her patients throughout their healing journey. Her skills and experience allow her to incorporate Western and Eastern approaches to provide options to her patients. She is particularly interested in pediatrics, pregnancy, and post-partum health, breastfeeding, and women’s health issues. In addition, she is genuinely passionate about integrative natural treatments.

Dr. Patel is registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and is an active member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Medicine and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors. She is also a member of the Canadian Lactation Consultants Association and is a board member of the Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She is also certified as a Naturopathic Labour Doula, Advanced Lactation Specialist and Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. Her downtime includes woodworking, painting, and creating healthy foods for her family.

Nimerah is a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She has a Masters in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University, and an honours Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo.

Nimerah’s work experience over the last ten years includes: providing one-on-one therapy, developing and facilitating therapy groups/ workshops, as well as parent coaching. She is passionate about maternal health, and continues to help mothers strive towards achieving their wellness goals.

Nimerah has training in chronic pain management, trauma sensitive care, creating protocols for desensitization, sensory processing, and anxiety management. She continues to enhance her skill set by utilizing evidence-based research, attending conferences, and taking relevant Occupational Therapy courses. She is currently in the process of becoming a certified baby led sleep and wellness specialist/coach.

Faryal graduated from McMaster University with a Masters in Physiotherapy. She is a rostered Pelvic Health Physiotherapist with a passion for helping women navigate their pelvic floor concerns and work towards a path of informed healing and improved quality of life. 

Faryal practices in-person at The Womb in Milton and virtually through Compass Rose Wellness Inc. in collaboration with UROSPOT. Her patient population includes mamas trying to progress through a healthy and informed pregnancy, mamas preparing for labour with goals of reducing risk of tearing and time spent in labour, and those who are postpartum (whether you delivered a few weeks ago or years prior)! In addition to this, she also supports women through their experience of menopause. 

Faryal firmly believes in prioritizing compassion, empathy, and personalized care so she can empower her patients with the knowledge and tools necessary for active participation in their journey towards recovery. Amina has always been passionate about sports, health, and fitness. She grew up playing competitive ice hockey and soccer and knew she wanted to combine her passions for sport and health, leading her to a physiotherapy career.

Amina completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. She then worked as a physiotherapy assistant in retirement homes and nursing homes for one year before completing her Master’s in Physical Therapy. Amina has a unique experience working in a hospital setting, both on a post-surgical and medicine floor in two different hospitals, alongside working in private clinics and home care.

Amina is also a certified personal trainer passionate about health promotion and geriatric health. She is the co-founder of the Seniors Fitness Program, an initiative that provides exercise classes for seniors in the Muslim community in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

Amina has played ice hockey for over twenty years, soccer for twenty-four years, and softball for six years. She is a mentor for youth and a sports enthusiast who believes in the power of sports for women’s empowerment. Her future aspirations include getting more Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and Muslim women into physiotherapy through mentorship programs.

Outside of work, you will find Amina either playing soccer, ice hockey, or softball, teaching young children how to ice skate, baking, skating on outdoor rinks or trails, or watching the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Maria has always been an advocate for natural healing, wellness and integrative medicine. After graduating from the College of International Holistic Studies specializing in Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Quantum Biofeedback, she continued to pursue her passion helping people on their road to recovery.

Nadia graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree. With over two decades of experience in community and clinical settings, she offers compassionate, non-judgemental, culturally sensitive care, focusing on the mother-baby dyad’s physical and emotional well-being. Nadia’s passion lies in breastfeeding support, addressing personal and technical challenges new mothers often face when learning to breastfeed. Nadia founded Feeding with Love, providing practical counseling on breastfeeding issues like position and latch, sore nipples, engorgement, blocked milk ducts, breast milk supply issues and expressing and storing breast milk. Niema Duri achieved her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from McMaster University. She is the founder of Postpartum Travel Nurses (PTN) and brings in 15 plus years of experience from The Hospital for Sick Children.

Niema is a proud mother of two, with a passion in maternal and newborn care. In addition to her expertise in pediatric health, Niema is a breastfeeding expert attaining her International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) licensing and Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Certification.

Niema is an experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in pediatric care. Having worked at the renowned Hospital for Sick Children, Niema has gained invaluable experience and expertise in providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare to infants and children.

Throughout Niema’s tenure at the hospital, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to the well-being of young patients and their families. With a life-long passion for health and wellness, Dr. Shamira Hudda earned an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo in Health Studies, followed by a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2005. In addition to her degrees, she has completed certifications in Acupuncture, Orthomolecular Nutrition and Prenatal & Pediatric Chiropractic care.
