Heileen’s personal journey through birth complications, miscarriages, cesarean and successful VBACs led to her passion for becoming a Birth & Postpartum Doula. Her wide range of firsthand experiences has given her insight to what expecting families require during pregnancy, labour, birth, and postpartum. She has over ten years of hands-on experience as an active Birth and Postpartum Doula. Heileen is honoured to have supported over thirty women and their families through their journey of seeking better birth and postpartum experiences.

Heileen is also a Childbirth Educator that prides herself in addressing each family’s unique needs. Heileen’s deep-rooted passion for building confidence and empowering women she supports has laid the path to further education. She is now striving to become a Traditional Birth Companion and Trauma Informed Professional inorder to serve her community holistically.

Victoria Aasiya Qasim is a DONA certified Birth Doula, holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education, and is currently enrolled at Mohawk to become a Lactation Consultant.  She felt incredibly supported during her pregnancies and births which included struggles with hyperemesis gravidarum, prematurity and a NICU stay. Because of her personal experience, she knows the value and impact that support has on early motherhood. She has a strong desire to assist women to feel empowered, well-informed, and surrounded by positivity during their journey.

Sanna organically began doula work, supporting women with the knowledge she gained over the last 2 decades.  As a mother of 4, along with courses she’s taken in reproductive health, lactation consulting, as well as her midwifery education, she has become equipped to assist women in their pregnancy journey and postpartum. 

She has experiences from placements in NICU settings, home, hospital, as well as overseas.  She is currently studying to be Birth Trauma Counselor, and is taking on both birth and postpartum clients.

Humairah is a homeschooling mama of 5, striving to live a holistic and natural lifestyle!

As an ECE, she always enjoyed working with infants and children. Once she had her own children, she quickly realized pregnancy, birth and postpartum was her niche. Humairah started off with volunteering for a non profit organization, which provides mother to mother support in breastfeeding. The work she is passionate about includes women’s health, gentle birth keeping and traditional postpartum care.

She also mentors mothers in their first year of motherhood, which includes extended postpartum support! Virtual support is always an option, she has completed a number of mentoring via zoom, text message / email support and providing resources! Other than birth work, she also runs a sourdough organic micro bakery from home! When she is not busy birth-keeping or baking a loaf of bread, she is found in the kitchen making meals from scratch, planning a garden and trying to live a homesteading life in the city!

Hebaa Rizeq started her doula journey back in 2020, after experiencing what majority of first time moms do, when she had her daughter in 2016.  Now as a mom of three and quite an experienced doula at this point, she continuously strives to better her skills to help parents-to-be gain knowledge and become confident by making informed decisions. She is a certified childbirth educator, labour and birth doula, postpartum doula, and a pre/post natal fitness coach.

She strongly believes it is important, and an Ammanah on us as mothers and future mothers to understand the physiology of labour and birth. To understand the means of medical interventions and when they’re necessary.  This is knowledge we need to gain! She stands by believing that birth is a miracle bestowed upon us women from Allah SWT and no science can replace.

After wanting to do birth work since the birth of her first child 18 years ago, 2020 was the year Laurie finally trained with DONA. 

Laurie is a lifelong Miltonian and mother of 3. She has been married to her husband Shawn for 19 years. They have three children and homeschool. 

Laurie has since built Ancient Wisdom Birth Services, serving naturally-minded mothers making conscious decisions about their care. Specializing in home-birth, she walks alongside women and their families offering emotional and physical support, help wade through the oceans of information available today to find balanced views rooted in facts, not fear that honour your intuition and divine design. 

This fall, Laurie will begin training with Billie Harrigan to learn more about supporting women who want further options than what the obstetrical and medwifery models have to offer in her Traditional Birth Companion course, to be completed by summer 2024.

Zainab Ismath is an certified Birth & Postpartum, Childbirth Educator and a Prenatal & Infant Nutrition Expert. She provides educational, emotional, physical support during a mother’s fertility, pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum. She is fascinated by growth and transformation hence her gratitude to be able to support each mother’s incredible journey into motherhood. These days you can find her on soothing walks out in nature with her toddler, absorbed in a book with a comforting cup of tea or engrossed in the sweetness of homemaking.

Formerly a physiotherapist, Sumaia transitioned her career to embrace a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Starting as a certified holistic health coach, she later dedicated herself to becoming a holistic birth and postpartum doula. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to supporting people’s well-being through a comprehensive and natural perspective. Her goal is to help mothers experience the sacred and instinctive birth they deserve, naturally, with minimal medical intervention.

As a holistic mother of three with profound birth stories, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her compassionate doula practice.

Seemal is a certified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula, Labour Doula and VBAC Specialist. She has always had an interest in understanding human relationships at a deeper level which led her to receive a BSc in Social Policy and Sociology from the London School of Economics. After studying and then working within a corporate environment she knew that this was not what she had envisioned for herself. After birthing her two daughters she felt a shift within herself that steered her into the direction of becoming a doula.

The birth of her nephew did not go as planned and being able to comfort and guide her sister and be with her throughout the entire birthing process and postpartum period opened her eyes to how important it is for all parents to have a pillar of unbiased support and encouragement during their journey through parenthood.

Her goal always is for parents to feel safe and heard, and to never feel judged. She loves witnessing parents see their true potential and embrace their new roles. She would love to champion you and be a pillar of support for you and your family!
