Nimerah Faruqui

Nimerah is a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She has a Masters in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University, and an honours Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo.

Nimerah’s work experience over the last ten years includes: providing one-on-one therapy, developing and facilitating therapy groups/ workshops, as well as parent coaching. She is passionate about maternal health, and continues to help mothers strive towards achieving their wellness goals.

Nimerah has training in chronic pain management, trauma sensitive care, creating protocols for desensitization, sensory processing, and anxiety management. She continues to enhance her skill set by utilizing evidence-based research, attending conferences, and taking relevant Occupational Therapy courses. She is currently in the process of becoming a certified baby led sleep and wellness specialist/coach.

Services:

1. Occupational Therapy

Using a holistic, culturally sensitive, and faith based approach, Nimerah helps her clients become independent with their “occupations” or daily living activities. Occupational Therapy consists of assessment, goal setting, and treatment tailored towards the client’s unique needs and goals.

2. Parent coaching

Parent coaching for new and seasoned parents on topics such as: caring for baby, developmental milestones, reflex integration, play, introducing new foods/textures, transitions, feeding/breastfeeding, sleep, toilet training, emotional regulation, sensory processing and social skills.

3. Occupational Balance program for moms

A unique six session program helping new and seasoned moms strive for occupational balance through participation in meaningful activities (self-care, productivity and leisure).
