Sanaa is a Childbirth Educator and Certified Red Tent Doula with over six years of experience in attending births.
She has experience assisting and supporting women during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period, in both home and hospital settings. She herself, has birthed five times at home. She has also completed a homeopathy course specifically for childbirth and the postpartum period, taught by practitioner Elaine Goode.
Perhaps the experience she holds dearest to her, is her experience working in the Middle East where she was gifted with intimate knowledge and experience of birth in a truly traditional atmosphere. This is where she met her first mentors who taught her just what true sisterhood is and how women should be nurtured through intense milestones and life events.
Ultimately her intention is to bring spirituality back into birthing especially for Muslim women. It is to empower all women to trust their bodies and connect to their fitra (primordial nature) and to be instinctive in their birthing. So that, the next generation can be born gently and purposefully with the hope they are beacons of light in our rapidly changing world.
Sanaa is able to serve the Scarborough and Pickering area.
